Blog post week 6 (post 3)

In our group's latest film project, we experimented with different shot angles to create a horror slasher film that would leave our audience on the edge of their seats. In this blog, I will discuss the different shot angles we used and how they contributed to the horror of our film.

Firstly, we used low-angle shots to make the killer appear more intimidating and powerful. By shooting from a low angle, we were able to create a sense of dominance and control that made the killer even more terrifying. This shot angle also allowed us to emphasize the killer's physical presence and make them appear larger and more threatening.

Secondly, we used high-angle shots to create a sense of vulnerability and helplessness in our characters. By shooting from a high angle, we were able to make our characters appear smaller and more vulnerable. This shot angle also allowed us to create a sense of distance and detachment from the characters, making the audience feel powerless to help them.

Thirdly, we used Dutch angles to create a sense of unease and disorientation. By tilting the camera at an angle, we were able to create a sense of imbalance and instability that added to the horror of the film. This shot angle also allowed us to create a feeling of disorientation in the audience, making them feel as though they were not quite sure what was happening.

Fourthly, we used close-up shots to create a sense of intimacy and tension. By focusing on the characters' facial expressions and body language, we were able to convey their emotions and create a sense of tension and unease. This shot angle also allowed us to create a feeling of closeness between the audience and the characters, making the horror of the film feel more personal.

Finally, we used tracking shots to create a sense of movement and momentum. By moving the camera alongside the characters, we were able to create a sense of urgency and tension. This shot angle also allowed us to create a feeling of being pursued by the killer, making the horror of the film feel more immediate and intense.
